IELTS Band Score Calculator

The calculator belongs above the fold; the explanation belongs underneath it. Start with the tool, then learn the rounding rules and raw-score conversions that drive your band.

What you can calculate

Use separate calculators for overall band, Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking so students land directly on the score question they actually have.

  • Overall band rounding
  • Reading raw score conversion
  • Listening raw score conversion
  • Section-specific estimates

Why this matters for study planning

A score tool becomes valuable when it routes students into the next action: mock tests for evidence, band examples for calibration, and feedback tools for repair.

FAQ

Questions students ask before they start

How is the overall IELTS score rounded?

The average of the four skills is rounded to the nearest whole or half band. A .25 average rounds to the next half band; a .75 average rounds to the next whole band.

Can I calculate Reading and Listening bands separately?

Yes. Use the dedicated Reading and Listening calculators for raw-score conversion, then use the overall calculator for the final band.
